Humans love to gloat in happiness and don’t fail to achieve it by any means. On contemplation, many of us realize that true happiness comes from inner peace and harmony that’s lost in our materialistic world. When we are at peace with ourselves, we live in peace with others. Else, our unhappiness spreads like a forest fire, making our life and that of others miserable
It’s wise to accept that not everything is in our control, and when undesirable circumstances prevail, our reaction, be it anger, frustration, or negativity, reflects on our thoughts. How does each of us handle anger? Some of us express it as words, some remain silent, and some others go to the extent of breaking things, and such ways never promote wellness. Counting numbers from 1-10 or drinking a glass of water cools us temporarily but, if you want a permanent solution, you must extinguish feelings of anger rather than burying them deep below.
On observing closely, it becomes clear that every time we become angry, our breathing levels change and paves the way to an undesirable body sensation. To conquer such effects, we must incorporate meditation into our daily life. Exercise relaxes our body and keeps us healthy but if we wish to conquer the mind, practicing the art of meditation is a necessity in today’s world. Involving various breathing techniques, imparting true wisdom to live in peace, and implementing self-development programs, meditation liberates us from misery and promotes true happiness.
How would it feel to do nothing but relax our mind and body by focusing on a single object that is nothing but our breathing? Don’t assume this as a breathing technique but all that we do is focus our mind to observe our natural breath. Such self-observation is the basis of Vipassana, a meditation technique that is a self-exploratory journey focusing on the interconnection between our mind and body. https://www.dhamma.org/en-US/about/art
Vipassana helps end our miseries in life as we shed away ignorance, aversions, cravings, and negativity to welcome real happiness, inner peace, and harmony. There is also ample research evidence showcasing the unmatched benefits of meditation on both our mind and body. These include:
Truthfully, once we start doing it regularly, meditation becomes as easy as inhaling and exhaling. It is entirely upon each of us to choose any comfortable meditation technique and incorporate it into our day-to-day life to reap maximum benefits. But, for optimal results, it's recommended that you do not mix different meditation techniques.
Let’s tap the power of meditation, learn the art of living, and attain liberation of the mind and body to respond better in times of stress and negativity.
